Air France/KLM Flying Blue: Promo Rewards for July 2023

The Air France/KLM Flying Blue loyalty program is well-known for its monthly rotating series of Promo Rewards, which offer 25–50% discounts on short-haul and long-haul redemptions on Air France and KLM flights.

The program has just released its Promo Rewards for July 2023, and there are offers to destinations in Central America, North America, and India. Luckily, there are Promo Rewards for business class flights to Quebec City, Ottawa, and Calgary this time around, too.

Now is a great time to plan travel to Europe for the summer months and through to the end of December.

Let’s take a look at what opportunities are available this month.

What Are Flying Blue Promo Rewards?

Promo Rewards are a major perk to being a member of Air France/KLM Flying Blue. Promo Rewards are released on a monthly basis and offer 25–50% off in select markets on Air France & KLM flights in various classes of service.

In addition to the 15 long-haul Promo Rewards, there are 14 short-haul Promo Rewards available for intra-European travel.

If you’re based in Quebec, Ottawa, or Calgary, this is an excellent opportunity to score a deal on the hotly contested business class award space to and from Europe this summer. 

For Quebec City- or Ottawa-based travellers, you can get to Europe for as few as 52,500 miles, which is an great deal for a flight in business class.

Calgarians who are looking to score a direct flight to Europe at a deal will be glad to know that business class flights can be found for just 48,750 miles.

If you have a trip to Europe, you may want to consider taking advantage of the Promo Reward for Mexico City, which can be booked in business class for as few as 60,000 miles. You may then be able to work your way up to Air France La Première if you’re lucky.

Indeed, you won’t find a much better way to get across the Atlantic this summer and fall than what you can find with this month’s Promo Rewards. If you have a trip to Europe planned in the next few months, be sure to secure your seats soon before someone else takes advantage of the deal.

Keep in mind that Air France/KLM Flying Blue recently added free stopovers as a feature of the program. You can add a free stopover of up to one year on a redemption, and when combined with a Promo Reward, could be an excellent way to plan out a long-term trip at a great deal.

Promo Reward tickets are available for one-way and round-trip flights, allowing for flexibility in your travel plans. Promo Reward discounts are only applicable on the lowest standard award pricing when available, and not on dynamically priced flight segments. 

Keep in mind that Flying Blue Promo Rewards come with a booking deadline. You must book the July 2023 Promo Rewards during the month of July; however, the travel window extends all the way through December 31, 2023.

Lastly, it’s important to note that Promo Reward tickets typically cannot be changed, cancelled, or refunded. 

How to Earn Flying Blue Miles

You can earn Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles by booking flight tickets on Air France, KLM, and its SkyTeam partners.

Additionally, in Canada, you can transfer Amex MR points at a 1:0.75 ratio, which can be earned via the entire suite of American Express Membership Rewards credit cards. 

There’s also the recently launched Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard by Brim Financial. You’ll earn 5 Flying Blue miles per dollar spent, in addition to the Flying Blue miles you earn as a result of your Flying Blue status.

If you have access to US credit cards, you can also transfer Amex US MR points, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou, and Capital One Miles to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio to pool your Canadian- and US-sourced Flying Blue miles in the same account. 

Keep in mind that there is a 20% transfer bonus from Capital One Miles to Flying Blue through to the end of July.

Furthermore, you can apply for the Bank of America Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard and earn a welcome bonus of 70,000 miles.

Lastly, when you transfer 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points to Flying Blue, you’ll get a bonus of 5,000 miles on top of the usual 3:1 ratio, for a total of 25,000 Flying Blue miles. 

Overall, Flying Blue is a program that is rapidly growing in prominence for points collectors, especially with regular Promo Rewards and their credit card partnerships.
