The program has just released its Promo Rewards for November 2022, and there are some great offers to destinations across the United States and one to Tokyo. Let’s take a look at what opportunities are available this month.
What Are Flying Blue Promo Rewards?
Promo Rewards are a major perk to being a member of Air France/KLM Flying Blue. Promo Rewards are released on a monthly basis and offer 25–50% off in select markets on Air France & KLM flights in various classes of service.
This month’s long-haul Promo Rewards include:
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and New York
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Washington
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Houston
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Miami
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Los Angeles
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Atlanta
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Chicago
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Tokyo
This month, there are eight long-haul Promo Rewards, and they’re to destinations all across the United States and to Tokyo. Unfortunately, the discount doesn’t extend to business class reward bookings for any destinations, which is disappointing.
If you’re OK with flying in economy, however, there are some real bargains to be had here.
For example, you can score flights from Los Angeles to Budapest via Amsterdam with KLM for just 18,000 miles.
Or, you can fly from Washington to Prague via Amsterdam with KLM for 12,750 Flying Blue miles.
You could even snag a flight from Paris to New York with Air France for only 11,250 miles.
Or maybe a flight from Paris to Houston with Air France suits you, at only 15,000 miles.
While there are certainly more glamorous ways to get from Europe to Japan, a one-way flight from Amsterdam to Tokyo with KLM costs as little as 25,125 Flying Blue miles. Indeed, this is quite the bargain.
Furthermore, there are six other Promo Rewards for short- and medium-haul travel within Europe. Intra-European destinations this month include Prague, Barcelona, Marseille, Budapest, Milan, and Copenhagen.
It’s fantastic to see Promo Rewards to destinations across the United States that are also easily accessible to Canadians. With the busy summer travel season over, there are plenty of opportunities to score deals on long-haul flights with Air France and KLM to or from Europe.
Promo Reward tickets are available for one-way and round-trip flights, allowing for flexibility in your travel plans. Promo Reward discounts are only applicable on the lowest standard award pricing when available, and not on dynamically priced flight segments.
Keep in mind that Flying Blue Promo Rewards come with a booking deadline. You must book the November 2022 Promo Rewards during the month of November; however, the travel window extends all the way through April 30, 2023. This is a more favourable timeline compared to shorter booking windows on Promo Rewards in the past.
Lastly, it’s important to note that Promo Reward tickets typically cannot be changed, cancelled, or refunded.
How to Earn Flying Blue Miles
You can earn Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles by booking flight tickets on Air France, KLM, and its SkyTeam partners.
Additionally, in Canada, you can transfer Amex MR points at a 1:0.75 ratio, which can be earned via the entire suite of American Express Membership Rewards credit cards.
There’s also the recently-launched Air France KLM Flying Blue World Elite Mastercard by Brim Financial. You’ll earn 5 Flying Blue miles per dollar spent, in addition to the Flying Blue miles you earn as a result of your Flying Blue status.

If you have access to US credit cards, you can also transfer Amex US MR points, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points, and Capital One points to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio to pool your Canadian- and US-sourced Flying Blue miles in the same account.
Lastly, when you transfer 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points to Flying Blue, you’ll get a bonus of 5,000 miles on top of the usual 3:1 ratio, for a total of 25,000 Flying Blue miles.
Overall, Flying Blue is a program that is rapidly growing in prominence for Canadian points collectors, especially with their regular Promo Rewards and their credit card partnership with Brim.
