New TD Aeroplan Credit Card Offers for Fall 2022
TD has just announced their Fall 2022 credit card offers. All cards have extended their high points bonuses, with the spending requirements improving on some.
TD’s most popular Aeroplan cards continue to put on very attractive welcome bonuses coinciding with the post-pandemic travel rush, while their other products remain at all-time-highs as well.
Let’s take a closer look at the details of these offers, which are available until January 3, 2023.
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege: 105,000 Aeroplan Points!
The TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card is offering a welcome bonus at 105,000 Aeroplan points, the all-time high for the premium card.
There’s not much to say about it – that’s awesome. It’s easily the most valuable signup bonus ever on a Visa or Mastercard in Canada!
To earn the full bonus, you’ll have to meet the following conditions:
- Earn 20,000 Aeroplan points with your first purchase
- Earn an additional 30,000 Aeroplan points when you spend $3,000 in the first 90 days
- Earn an additional 55,000 Aeroplan points when you spend $12,000 in the first year
The total points you can earn is the same as the previous signup bonus, at 105,000 points. However, the card has done away with the monthly spending requirement, a welcome change that will give new cardholders more flexibility with how and when they earn the bonus.
While the overall spending requirement is high, it’s only an average of $1,000 per month, which is quite low compared to other premium credit card offers. Besides, the bonus is well worth it, enough for a round-trip business class flight from Western Canada to Japan.
With an annual fee of $599, this represents buying the full welcome bonus at 0.57 cents per point. That’s a great entry point for a premium credit card, as it’s easy to redeem Aeroplan points at a higher value (we currently value Aeroplan points at 2.1 cents per point).
As always, the card’s everyday earn rates are as follows:
- Earn 2 Aeroplan points per dollar spent at Air Canada, including Air Canada Vacations
- Earn 1.5 Aeroplan points per dollar spent on groceries, gas, travel, and dining
- Earn 1.25 Aeroplan points per dollar spent on other purchases
In addition to the travel benefits offered by the lower-tier cards, the Visa Infinite Privilege card also comes with a DragonPass membership and six lounge passes per year, as well as Maple Leaf Lounge access. Plus, your spending on the card will help earn Status Qualifying Miles or Segments towards Aeroplan Elite Status.
The Visa Infinite Privilege card requires $200,000 in annual household income to qualify.

- Plus, earn an additional 55,000 Aeroplan points upon spending $12,000 in the first year

- DragonPass membership with six free lounge visits per year
- Minimum income: $200,000 personal or household
- Annual fee: $599
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite: 50,000 Aeroplan Points
The TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card has extended its welcome bonus of 50,000 Aeroplan points. As usual, the annual fee is waived for the first year.
To earn the full bonus, you’ll have to meet the following conditions:
- Earn 10,000 Aeroplan points with your first purchase
- Earn an additional 20,000 Aeroplan points when you spend $1,500 in the first 90 days
- Earn an additional 20,000 Aeroplan points when you spend $7,500 in the first year
A bonus of 50,000 Aeroplan points is an all-time high for the card, on paper. While the Buddy Pass conversion opportunity had effectively pushed an old signup bonus to 55,000 points, this is the most points we’ve ever been able to earn as a signup bonus for the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card itself.
The secondary spending requirement within the first year is much more flexible than a monthly spending requirement, as you can achieve it whenever it’s most convenient.
These latter points are no longer described as an “anniversary bonus,” so you may receive them on the statement on which you cross the spending threshold. Here’s hoping the points arrive before the second year’s annual fee.
As a reminder, here are the Visa Infinite card’s earn rates on ongoing spending:
- Earn 1.5 Aeroplan points per dollar spent on groceries, on gas, and at Air Canada
- Earn 1 Aeroplan points per dollar spent on other purchases
And these are a few key benefits for cardholders:

The Visa Infinite card requires either $60,000 in annual personal income, or $100,000 in annual household income, to qualify.

TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum: 20,000 Aeroplan Points
The TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card is also holding steady at 20,000 Aeroplan points for new cardholders. Like its Visa Infinite counterpart, this card is free for the first year.
The welcome bonus is as follows:
- Earn 10,000 Aeroplan points with your first purchase
- Earn an additional 10,000 Aeroplan points when you spend $1,000 in the first 90 days
Usually, welcome offers at this level are reserved for cards with a higher income requirement. If this card is a better fit for you, or if you’ve been ignoring it in favour of premium products, you can get this bonus if you apply before January 3, 2023.
While the welcome bonus shines, ongoing earn rates aren’t quite as strong as the Visa Infinite:

- Earn 1 Aeroplan point per $1.50 spent on other purchases
The Visa Platinum card also provides preferred pricing and Aeroplan award ticket insurance, but it doesn’t offer free checked bags or a NEXUS rebate.

TD Rewards Credit Cards: Up to 100,000 TD Rewards Points
While TD’s Aeroplan credit cards remain hot, so too do the TD Rewards cards.
The TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card is offering 100,000 TD Rewards points:
- Earn 20,000 TD Rewards points with your first purchase
- Earn an additional 80,000 TD Rewards points when you spend $1,500 in the first 90 days
Its junior counterpart, the TD Platinum Travel Visa Card, is also holding steady at 50,000 TD Rewards points:
- Earn 15,000 TD Rewards points with your first purchase
- Earn an additional 35,000 TD Rewards points when you spend $1,000 in the first 90 days
Both cards are offering a first-year annual fee waiver, so you can earn these rewards without fretting about your initial outlay.
These offers expire on October 29, 2022, the day before TD rebrands and relaunches the TD Rewards cards.
TD Rewards points are worth a fixed rate of 0.5 cents per point for travel redemptions booked via Expedia for TD, or 0.4 cents per point for statement credit against any other travel expense. When redeemed for maximum value with Expedia, the offer on the First Class Travel card is worth $500, while the Platinum Travel card would net you $250.
While not the most highly-coveted award currency, TD Rewards points can be quite useful for oddball non-chain hotel bookings or other excursions you find on Expedia. For statement credit, they’re quite flexible, with TD being known to consider out-of-province gas or restaurant purchases as eligible “travel” expenses.

Conclusion
With strong offers on their Aeroplan credit cards for Fall 2022, TD remains one of Canada’s leading credit card issuers. TD has come to play, admirably competing with American Express in a way not often seen in Canada.
You can earn a substantial number of Aeroplan points through each of TD’s co-branded cards, while the bonuses on the bank’s proprietary TD Rewards credit cards are also sitting at very tempting all-time-high levels.
